The Right Executive Function Tutor

The Right Executive Function TutorAs an executive you need an executive function tutor. However, if you are planning to enroll in a school or institute that provides this type of tuition, do not get frustrated with how easy it is to find them. They can be hard to find and they will have their own list of requirements. All you need to do is find one who will accept your application and will grant you an interview. In the interview, they will be looking for if you are the right candidate for the program, which will give you a better understanding of how to fit into the program and how much time you will need to get through it. If the interview isn't scheduled in the time that you need, you will have to look for a school that does this. It is only fair that the hiring process is fair.It is also a good idea to ask about their teaching philosophy before you enroll. They may have a specific way that they teach and use their curriculum to keep students interested and to build your skills so that you can successfully finish the course. A school that wants a student who will be able to follow directions is not the right place to be.Another thing to look for is if they allow you to receive email correspondence from the executive function tutor or if you will have to call them to ask questions. This is one of the best ways to go about this and it can also make a difference when you are selecting a tutor who is actually qualified to work with the students in your class. You want to be sure that they are honest and that they are very professional in everything they do.It is important to note that you do not have to pay the executive function tutor. Most schools have payment plans or you may have to pay a small amount, but many times they offer it for the same price as having a private tutor. You can choose if you are comfortable paying a little more for a professional who is in charge of your education. You need to think about how well you communicate with people. Do you alwa ys have the answers to everything that is asked? There are some schools that will keep track of everything and they will talk to you about how you will need to improve, but a few things that have to be discussed are in order. This is another thing that is sure to come up when you need to speak with a teacher. When you cannot communicate properly, you may get lost and could miss important points. By keeping these factors in mind, you will find that you don't have to worry about it too much.

What is your level? Are you at the intermediary level, or an expert? Bilingual? Native Hispanophone? What is your professional experience? Are you a beginner or do you have a few years behind you?Experienced professors charge up to 40 dollars per hour while a beginner professor charges generally around 15 dollars an hour. What is the level of your student? Is t he student seeking your help to prepare for an exam, such as the SAT, TOEFL, or for a class in school? Or a simple refresher course? Are they in high school or university? What will be the rhythm of the course? A daily lesson, or only occasionally? A summer course or throughout the school year?Where do you live?Yes, the rate professors charge depends on the city! In cities like New York City or Los Angeles, tutors charge in the range of $35 to $45, while in smaller towns rates generally hover around $15.For in-home lessons: take into consideration the commute time, and the cost of transportation (including gas). With all that in mind, how do you come up with your rate?To calculate your hourly rate, take into account all the various expenses.Giving private lessons must be profitable. So your salary (hourly rate) must be calculated taking into account all the costs you have to pay.The freelance workforce in the United States earned an estimated $1 trillion in 2015.Clearly, freelancing is a real way to earn a living today!

3 Things Guitarists Must Practice Every Day

3 Things Guitarists Must Practice Every Day Megan L.   With so much music in the world to play, how do you figure out how to practice guitar? Guitar teacher  Jack C.  breaks it down to the basics One of the most common questions Im asked by students, whether they are total beginners, or seasoned veterans who have been playing for more than ten years, is: How exactly should I practice guitar in order to get the most benefit from my time? As my explanation, I always like to break down guitar knowledge in three basic categories. 1. Technique Technique is the actual mechanical movement of your hands which you use to create the sounds coming from your guitar. It entails training the muscles in your hands so you can develop the strength and muscle memory to pull off the actual chords and scales we use when playing the instrument. 2. Music Theory Music theory is the mental aspect of learning any instrument. It is the act of breaking down the sounds we hear in to names and formulas. Its the science behind the sounds. 3. Creativity I believe, like any skill set, musical creativity CAN be learned and taught. Some people are brought to believe that youre either born with that creative muse or youre not. This simply isnt true. Lets say we have a 2 note per string pentatonic scale (you can use any of the scales found here). A great practice exercise would be to pick each note in ascending order from the low E string to the high E string, then descending using strictly alternate picking (up and down only). Start very slow, then gradually increase the speed at which you do this exercise. Then, once that movement is mastered, and the scale can be played by memory, you can then try creating a simple melody using only those notes found within the scale. This exercise kills three birds with one stone! You are practicing your technique by working on your alternate picking, youre learning a portion of music theory by memorizing the scale, and youre exercising your creative mind by applying the scale you learned in creating your own melody. By combining all aspects of learning guitar in to one exercise, you are now making the most out of your practice time. This approach to practicing is used by some of the greatest players in the world, and has proven to be one of the most efficient ways to practice the instrument. As you progress in your skill level, this approach can be applied to different scales, chord progressions, and picking techniques. In review, we know that if a guitar exercise can cover these three aspects of guitar playing: technique, theory, and creativity, all at once, then we know it is an exercise that will serve us well in our guitar journey! Thanks for reading and if you have any questions for me, Im more than happy to answer your questions. Learn more about the guitar by taking lessons with a private instructor. Advanced Calculus Problems

Advanced Calculus Problems Calculus is a very important branch of mathematics. The different branches of mathematics have been enriched a lot by the application of calculus. Branches of Advance calculus: - 1) Differential calculus Real number Function Limit Continuity Differentiation Second order derivative 2) Integral calculus Indefinite integral Method of substitution Integration by parts Integrals of some special form of functions Definite integral 3) Differential equation Order and degree of differential equations Differential equations of the first order and of the first degree Linear second order differential equations with constant coefficients 4) Application of calculus Significance of derivatives Tangent and normal Maxima and minima Definite integral as an area Velocity and acceleration Few examples of advance calculus problem: - Example 1: - Find the derivatives of y w.r.t. x when y = (x + 1) (x 1) Solution: - Differentiating both sides w.r.t. x, dy / dx = (x + 1) d / dx ( x 1) + (x 1) d/dx (x + 1) = (x + 1) [ d / dx (x) d / dx (1)] + (x 1) [d/dx (x) + d/dx (1)] = (x + 1) (1 0) + (x 1) (1 0) = (x+1) + (x -1) = x + 1+ x 1 = 2x Therefore dy /dx = 2x Example 2: Evaluate x ^4 dx Solution: - x ^4 dx = x^ (4 + 1) / (4+ 1) = x^5 / 5 Therefore x ^4 dx = x^5 / 5

Solving Systems By Substitution

Solving Systems By Substitution Substitution is a very useful method in mathematics. In the method of substitution one of the variable is substituted to find the other variables and vice versa. It helps reduce the given question or solution to a simpler form. Expressions can consist of one or more than one unknown variables with different coefficients and constant numbers. Example 1: Solve by substitution the set of equations x - 5y = 30 and x + y = 6? Solution: The given equations are x - 5y = 30 and x + y = 6. Here x, y are the unknown variables. Substitute the variable x. From one equation x = 30 + 5y, substituting in the other equation. This gives 30 + 5y + y = 6; 30 + 6y = 6; 6y = -24; y = -4. Now substitute y = -4 in x + y = 6; x = 10. Hence the solution is x = 10 and y = -4. Example 2: Solve by substitution the set of equations x - y = -2 and x + y = 2? Solution: The given equations are x - y = -2 and x + y = 2. Here x, y are the unknown variables. Substitute the variable x. From one equation x = -2 + y, substituting in the other equation. This gives -2+ y + y = 2; -2 + 2y = 2; 2y = 4; y = 2. Now substitute y = 2 in x + y = 2; x = 0. Hence the solution is x = 0 and y = 2.

What are the Benefits of a Primary School Tutor

What are the Benefits of a Primary School Tutor At Home Private Teachers to Provide Extra School Support ChaptersWhat does the Primary School Curriculum Consist Of?Helping Students Who Have Trouble In MathematicsHelping Students Who Have Difficulties in ReadingHelping Students Who Have Difficulties in WritingHire a Personal Tutor to not Fall Behind Before Secondary SchoolThe number one concern for parents: children dropping out of school  The pupil is exposed to result based pressure from their teachers, fellow classmates and finally their beloved family. The accumulation of homework from various subjects, the pace of primary school or even worse extrinsic problems and influences are all elements that can cause the young student to feel overwhelmed and be tempted to repel all the valuable information they are learning. Therefore, let us all look at how personal tutoring classes can improve the situation for many young British primary students. In order to help the student reach the road to success, we need to be honest and realize that there is no perfect solution since we live in a very i mperfect world, however, there are a number of great options to choose from. The student needs to be kept far away from memorizing and knowing by heart rules that they cannot fully understand (that’s basically what they are taught at school). In order to do that, the private tutor needs to present mathematical concepts and abstract notions using concrete material that the student can manipulate and touch. Then, as often as possible, let the child reason and determine the answer by himself. The pupil needs to determine, without any help, how to arrive at the correct conclusion. Thus, they remember how they came to the correct answer. Finally, be pedagogical!During your at-home tutoring sessions, think about the 5 senses…The difficulties in math often come from the fact that the student doesn’t see or clearly understand what we are asking. Once the statement or equation is understood, the student can finally make progress.  Mathematics is a subject that remains important, througho ut your entire school career. Moreover, to pursue a scientifically based career, why not plan to take remedial classes at a secondary school level also? A lot more complicated and difficult than let’s say a game of hopscotch or a friendly football match!Reading rapidly solicits our learning capacities (our attention or memory), our knowledge (recognition of the alphabet…), and our wisdom (to decipher a text, unders tand the definition of a word from a certain image or from the meaning of the sentence…).These learning techniques are somewhat complicated in the beginning and are difficult for primary school teachers to explain well in a class that is overcrowded with bratty students. Therefore, the pupil needs a tailor-made, personal tutoring session to thoroughly comprehend the aforementioned elements in order to facilitate the reading process.A specialized teacher, psychologist or school speak therapist can often offer a helping hand to the student, however, it is usually the regularly scheduled and well-structured classes of a private tutor that bring the most success. These private lessons will act as a bridge connecting the students to his classroom lessons. The two go hand and hand and the former is essential for a student who is having difficulties in reading. If the student has great trouble it would be wise for the tutor to take the time to explain every single letter of the words that are found in a word bank, the results will be worth the effort! The faster the pace becomes in the classroom, the faster the young pupil loses confidence in himself and shuts in on himself. These are things that need to be avoided because they can easily jeopardize the student’s future success at school. With that being said, the role of a personal tutor is never in vain because the young child needs a positive extrinsic influence that he can count on and trust in as a friend during hard times.Students become very attached to their academic tutors! To offer remedial help in English to a student who has trouble reading, the tutor will diagnose the issues like a well-trained physician to identify where are the common mistakes.A personalized reading test comes highly recommended because you will be able to observe the technique of the young student and therefore be able to identify the procedural mistakes he is committing.Ask yourself certain questions: Does the pupil understand the s tory he is reading? Are they memorizing the key vocabulary words?Does the student correctly identify letters that look alike?A series of exercises should be implemented to have the student progress and perfect their reading. During the tutoring program, they will proceed to understand syllabic decompositions of words and sort between identical letters. And there is nothing wrong with such an ongoing academic support programme through secondary school and even into your child's university studies!Helping Students Who Have Difficulties in WritingDrawing pictures is proven to build the student's confidence in writing. (Source: Visual Hunt)From Leeds to London, schools have always been filled with students who have difficulties writing in English. But how do we propose suggestions to a student who has trouble in writing prepare for an exam?Evidently, among all the distinguished professionals who are likely to support one could resort to: Speech therapist: if there is time on the  agenda, A reading specialist that is known for doing graphotherapy: an unregulated profession, an unsupported rhythm and very expensive sessions!  A psychologist: very expensive if you hire a private one and not necessary if the student has only a slight writing issue. If the student is constantly and permanently confronting by writing, they can quickly become discouraged, stressed and still poorly express their writing skills. With these issues the skilled professionals may come to their aid or in certain situations hinder their progress, therefore the private tutor should take advantage of providing the student with the extra school support they need in order to succeed.    In the cosy, comfort of the pupil's own home, all the writing-related stress diminishes thanks to the help of a personal academic instructor who acts as a caring big brother instead of a cranky babysitter.    By prioritizing drawing in an entertaining way, something the pupil has done since before kindergarten, he will im prove his fine motor skills and the holding of his pencil so that he regains confidence in his writing. Helpful Tip: the use of special lines (enlarged or the first coloured line) facilitates learning English writing.  Hire a Personal Tutor to not Fall Behind Before Secondary SchoolBefore planning on taking remedial classes in secondary school, the student needs to finish primary school with style!Homework accumulates every day, classes keep going at a quick pace and the pupils slowly get lost in the pages of their textbooks that weigh more than a Range Rover!  Despite motivation, help from the entire teaching staff and his older brothers and sisters, he sees the secondary school in the distance but he doesn't feel ready because he hasn't assimilated all of the basic primary school concepts.  School holidays, Wednesdays and weekends, there is still a ton of spare time and the parents ask themselves questions on about their child's scholastic difficulties.  How would private, academi c tutoring help my daughter or son more than the support they are offered by teachers in the classroom? That's a very good question indeed!Considering a recent study, it would be wise for parents to hire a private tutor in the UK since the research showed that British parents give their children less help with education than almost every other country!   These stats are concerning but go on to show that hiring a personal tutor to follow your child through primary to secondary school would be a great idea.  The support a pre-secondary school private tutor can bring is multiple:  Bridging gaps before they weigh more heavily on the student's shoulders,Reinforce the student's knowledge of the alphabet and the number system,Train and mentally prepare the student to juggle a more intense class load.    It's very rare to see a student smiling when they receive their report card. Private tutoring can turn that frown upside down and give your child a reason to smile.  If you are tempted by a dventure and want to fortify the foundation of your child's scholarly knowledge, Superprof offers professional private tutors! Five Characteristics of Highly Effective Teachers

Five Characteristics of Highly Effective Teachers You got into teaching for a reason: to make a lasting impact on students lives. So how can you do that? Here are five characteristics of the best, most effective teachers: A passion for the craft of teaching and for helping students learn is essential to being an influential teacher. The best teachers let their enthusiasm show in the classroom. They arent afraid to share why they love a subject, and that excitement is often contagious. Excellent teachers want their students to learn. That means theyre always willing to take the time to help them understand something and overcome challenges. They are committed to guiding students toward greater learning. Compassion is important in teaching. And a patient, kind disposition is likely to be more successful than one that is more authoritative in nature. Thats not to say teachers cannot be strict and hold students to high standards. However, teachers can create great outcomes when they get to know their students as individuals and show them that they care. Some students are more naturally motivated than others, but great teachers are good at connecting all types of students to a subject. They try to make subjects interesting, of course, but they are also skilled at convincing students of the value and importance of learning. They pay attention to how their students respond to their methods and adjust when needed. Embracing a growth mindset. Every teacher wants their students to believe that they are capable of growing their skills and knowledge if they put in the effort. When they embrace this stance, it rubs offand they will see increased student growth and motivation. Learning isnt easy for all students, but the more you can make your classroom a safe space where students are treated as capable learners, the more effective you will be.

College Supports for Students with ADHD

College Supports for Students with ADHD If you are sending your teen off to college this August, now it the time to make sure that the proper ADHD supports will be in place when they arrive. Even though your teen is about to gain a great deal of independence, they will likely need help and encouragement to get their ADHD supports in place before college begins. Research campus services with your teen, and help them send emails and make phone calls if they need to schedule appointments. Aim to create a solid plan that covers each of these areas: Academic Accommodations: Think about the academic supports that your teen has accessed during high school. Did they have a 504 Plan, an individualized education plan (IEP), or an informal plan that allowed them to have things like extended time on tests or the ability to take exams in a separate room with no distractions? These accommodations and others are available to college students with ADHD who need them. In order to qualify, colleges require documented evidence of an ADHD diagnosis. At most schools, this means recent results from an evaluation that includes cognitive and achievement testing, as well as an assessment of ADHD symptoms and impairments. Often a signed letter from a pediatrician or psychiatrist is not sufficient. Contact the colleges learning support center to find out about their requirements. Also find out about other academic supports on campus, like tutoring services and writing centers. Encourage your teen to sign up for services when school starts rather tha n waiting until they are struggling. Its all about preventing academic problems before they happen. Medication management: If your teen takes medication to manage their ADHD, find out if the psychiatrists on-campus provide ADHD medication management services. Some colleges and universities require students to see doctors and psychiatrists off campus to have their ADHD medication prescriptions filled. Others require a diagnosis from an off-campus physician before they will begin prescribing medications. The campus medical center will be able to answer questions about the services provided on-campus, and will give referrals for off-campus providers if one is needed. Social Success. All college students, and especially those with ADHD, have more success socially when they join clubs and participate in extracurricular activities. Have casual conversations with your teen about the activities theyd like to participate in on campus. Encourage them to learn about the clubs and sports available at their school. Just dont take over and do the research for them unless they ask for your help (and even then, do the online research together)! Theyll be more likely to join if they feel like participating was their own idea and not something their mom or dad told them to do. Talk about Alcohol. My own research and that of my colleagues has shown that college students with ADHD are more likely to experience problems with alcohol on campus than students without ADHD. Even if students with ADHD drink the same amount of alcohol as their peers without ADHD, they are likely to experience greater negative consequences. Plus, if school is already difficult to manage with ADHD, adding alcohol to the mix is only going to make it harder. Make sure your teen knows the risks, and that their risks are greater because of their ADHD. If your teen isnt going to be receptive to this information coming from you, have them talk with another trusted family member who they look up to, or an older friend, or a therapist or teacher who they respect. Counseling services. If you think your child may have difficulty with the transition to college, help them preemptively schedule a few sessions at the schools counseling center. Counseling center therapists are experts when it comes to the college transition. If your child needs ongoing support, theyll be able to provide referrals to off-campus providers who specialize in ADHD. With proactive supports in place, your child can begin their college career on the right foot and help ensure four years of success. ABOUT DR.
